Pinning Ceremony 2025

In a moving celebration of academic achievement and school spirit, Q.I. Roberts Jr.-Sr. High School hosted its annual Pinning Ceremony on November 6. This special tradition recognizes the dedication, resilience, and success of our Cambridge AICE students.

This year, 136 students were honored for passing a total of 693 AICE exams, including 20 at the highest possible score. Among them, 47 students passed four or more exams, and 34 students have already earned their AICE diploma. Many others are just one exam away, with their final test already taken during the fall exam series. Earning the AICE diploma also qualifies students for Florida’s Bright Futures Scholarship, which covers 100% of tuition at state universities.

Principal Joe Theobold opened the evening with a message that reflected the school’s core values. “We come together not just to recognize academic success, but to honor the values that define us: Quality, Integrity, and Respect,” she said. “Our mission is Excellence in all Endeavors, and tonight gives us a chance to reflect on what that truly means.”

Q.I. continues to shine at the state level. For the sixth consecutive year, the school was named a Florida School of Excellence. Test scores in English Language Arts (7th–10th grade), Civics, and Accelerated Math (7th grade) ranked in the top 10% statewide. Q.I. is also in its third year among the top 15 combination schools in Florida and currently holds the number 7 spot.

In addition to celebrating academic milestones, the ceremony spotlighted the character and growth of Q.I. students. “We provide belonging. We open doors to opportunity. And we pursue all of it with excellence, because We Are Q.I.,” Theobold said.

A highlight of the evening was a presentation by five members of the Class of 2026, who shared the five key attributes of a Cambridge learner: confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged. Their reflections offered a powerful reminder of the values that guide Q.I. students in their academic journey.

The event also included a moment of gratitude for teachers and staff. Students recognized their essential role in helping students succeed, presenting them with symbolic pins as a token of appreciation. “This pin symbolizes your commitment to being engaged in our community, ready to make a difference,” said Senior Stacey Lopez.

The Pinning Ceremony is more than a celebration of success. It is a reflection of the Q.I. mission to provide excellence, create opportunity, and foster a deep sense of belonging in every student. We are proud of all who were honored and grateful for the entire Knight community that makes these achievements possible.
