Mathematics teacher Ms. Tiffany Spencer will be traveling this week to Washington D.C. to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, NCTM, Annual Meeting and Exposition. She has the honor of attending as a Presenter and will be sharing the excellent work she does in her classroom with other teachers from around the country. Ms. Spencer was nominated based on her work with Impact Florida’s solving with Students Cadre over the last 2 years. Her work centered around having data chats with her students, growing her students to reflect on their performance in class, setting goals, and making a plan to achieve their goal. She will be a part of a cohort of math educators who will network and collaborate on their solutions to the math education problem. Ms. Spencer will be able to bring back to Q.I. Roberts valuable resources, techniques, and insight from her trip.
When asked what it means to have this opportunity means, Ms. Spencer said “I am honored to have the opportunity to represent QI Roberts and PCSD at this national conference. I cannot wait to share how our math department is truly devoted to serving our students by allowing them to have a voice, hearing and acting on their feedback, and consistently striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors.”
